Thin Wall mould

1. Thin wall mould manufacturer:

The injection molding method is that the thickness of the plastic part is less than 1mm, and the projected area of the plastic part is greater than 50cm square.  The wall thickness of the molded part is less than 1mm or 1.5mm.

Due to the fast running speed of thin-walled injection molds, the cycle time can sometimes reach 4s. High-quality mold design and mold construction are the key factors for the success of injection molded thin-walled products, otherwise the mold will quickly break down.

We provide precision scientific training for process technicians and management personnel on thin-wall forming. A professional technical team will help ensure excellent thin-wall forming mold design and production processing.

2. Thin wall injectiion molding applicaton:

Thin-wall injection molding is not only suitable for lightweight food packaging. Through proper part design, analysis and hot runner system, it is also widely used in various injection molding industries, such as automotive, medical, electronics, mobile, etc., such as:

(1) Food packaging

(2) Car

(3) Plastic cover

(4) Medical equipment

(5) Plastic container and lid

(6) Plastic packaging of consumer goods

(7) Electronic enclosure and protection

(8) Mobile communication and handheld device components

3. Thin wall injectiion molding advantage:

Thin-walled products will reduce the quality and size of the products. It is easy to integrate design and assembly, shorten the production cycle, save materials, and reduce costs.

Specific requirements for thin-walled products:

1) High impact strength

2) Good appearance quality

3) Dimensional stability

4) Can withstand large static loads

5) The molding material should have good fluidity.

4. Key point of Thin wall molding design:

1) The wall thickness is small, but it must meet the product's impact strength, appearance quality, dimensional stability, and precision dimensional tolerances, and can withstand greater static load requirements.

2) The rigidity, impact resistance and manufacturability of plastic parts must be considered in the design process.

3) Since the thin-walled injection mold cavity is very narrow and the melt filling resistance is large, sharp corners should be avoided when designing plastic parts to reduce perforation.

4) Thin-wall injection molding process uses higher pressure, which limits local shrinkage

And allows thicker rib design.

5 When the wall thickness is less than 1.00mm, the rib can be as thick as the wall thickness.

6) Due to the small shrinkage of thin-walled plastic parts, the drafting amount of ribs, bosses and edges should be increased.

7) Since the bending stiffness is inversely proportional to the cubic of the wall thickness, the thinner the part, the worse the stiffness. The thinner the part.

8) The easiest way to increase the rigidity of plastic parts is to use fiber-filled reinforcing materials.

9) Fixtures, screws, ultrasonic welding and two-color injection molding are used to fix the plastic parts tightly together like a single part on the assembly.
